AMI Members’ Work Creates Dramatic Setting For Entire TEDMED Experience |
TEDMED Conference Program

San Diego – The world-renown TEDMED conference (www.tedmed.com), where the
world’s most creative minds meet healthcare's most innovative science, took
place at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, from October 25 through the 28th.
Strategically placed throughout the meeting and social rooms were a plethora of
large HD monitors with rotating displays of incredible biomedical visualizations. There were approximately100 illustrations by 21 AMI members,
selected as winners of a juried show held by TEDMED for the purpose of
surrounding the attendees with an environment reflecting the scientific
knowledge and beauty we illustrate in biomedicine.
The 21 artists shown were: Edmond Alexander, Christopher Burke, Gary Carlson, Bryan Christie, Cosmocyte, Audra Geras, Alexandra Gordon, Thom Graves, Jane Hurd, IOMEDIA, Craig Kiefer, David Killpack, Layla Lang, Kim Martens, Kirk Moldoff, Quade Paul, AXS Studio, Cynthia Turner, Catherine Twomey, Travis Vermilye, and Ed Zilberts. Their artwork also appeared throughout the conference printed material, on stage and in simulcasts rooms. All of the multimedia for the show was executed by IOMEDIA, and we have Christine Armstrong, their Executive Director, to thank for organizing the medical illustration show with the help of the AMI. The next TEDMED will be in Washington, D.C., April 11 -13, 2012.
