Christine Young | President Elect
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
With over 32 years of continuous practice since graduating from the Department of Art As Applied to Medicine at Hopkins Christine has enjoyed titles such as Owner, Creative Director, Partner, and a favorite: ‘Secret Weapon.’ The majority of her professional life has been as an independent business owner with two brief lapses of full-time employment as Creative Director, once establishing Anatomical Chart Company’s in-house art department (1989 – 1990), and again with Hurd Studios in New York (2006 – 2007). Christine’s independence has provided an organic journey moving from the side of research scientists, physicians and surgeons, to publishing, medical malpractice, patient education, to ten seasons of teaching and advising in UIC’s graduate program. The last decade has had a more singular focus on visual science research, strategy, and storyboard development for biopharmaceutical product animations for clients in both agency and award winning animation companies. Working with multinational brand team partnerships from Takeda/Lundbeck, Novartis/Chiron’s vaccine group, Bayer/ Regeneron, and with smaller biopharmaceutical companies has provided unique experiences and insight into complex business relationships unifying under the stresses of product launch.
Active professional member of the AMI since 1979, Certified since 1992, Fellow 1998; AMI Committees: Student Affairs Chair (1978-1979), Contracts committee (1991 – 1995), Professional Liaisons Chair (1996 – 1999), Medical Illustration Source Book.
