San Diego – The world-renown TEDMED conference (www.tedmed.com), where the
world’s most creative minds meet healthcare's most innovative science, took
place at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, from October 25 through the 28th.
Strategically placed throughout the meeting and social rooms were a plethora of
large HD monitors with rotating displays of incredible biomedical visualizations. There were approximately100 illustrations by 21 AMI members,
selected as winners of a juried show held by TEDMED for the purpose of
surrounding the attendees with an environment reflecting the scientific
knowledge and beauty we illustrate in biomedicine.
(Lexington, KY) - The Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) has moved its headquarters office to Lexington, KY as of January 1, 2010.AMR Management Services will serve as AMI’s new management company.

We are seeking your proposal for a concurrent, plenary, a workshop or a techniques showcase presentation—whether it is yourself, a team, or an interesting outside speaker you know, anything which would spark the interest of the membership. The new Association of Medical Illustrators Website (www.ami.org), has won the Interactive Media Council’s Best in Class Award, in the category of 'Medical', with an overall score of 490 out of a maximum of 500 points.
The Association of Medical Illustrators recently redesigned website was recognized as Adobe’s Site of the Day on January 15th, 2009. With the Site of the Day honor, “Adobe recognizes projects based on strong visual design, technical execution, usability, interesting and/or timely content, [return on investment] and benefit to the organization as well as overall innovative use of Adobe products.”
The newly redesigned website of the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) launches today. The website, ami.org, supports the AMI’s mission by providing rich resources and stunning visuals – built to better serve its members and provide valuable content for health care professionals, medical art buyers, scientists and students.
The Illustrators Partnership of America (IPA) and 5 individuals have been served with a lawsuit by the Graphic Artists Guild (GAG), claiming damages of a million dollars and demanding that a court order IPA to cease and desist from supposedly defamatory public comments about GAG's activities and use of industry reprographic royalties, even when IPA is merely quoting GAG's own statements.
The Association of Medical Illustrators will gather in Richmond, Virginia, July 29-August 2, 2009, for their Annual Meeting and exhibition of medical illustration, animation, interactive media, and three-dimensional artwork.
